Calvary Kid's worshipping the Lord at our Christmas Festival 2011

"This is my prayer in the desert
When all that's within me feels dry
This is my prayer in my hunger and need
My God is the God who provides..."
God loves to bless His little children and to use His Body to do it!  What a blessing it is to be part of those chosen to bring tidings of "Great Joy" to those who need a Savior!
"A newborn King to see...."
"He came to set the captives free...."
"I am a poor boy too....Pa rum pa pum pum..."
December 2011
Interesting that December 12 in Mexico is the day many celebrate “La Virgin Guadalupe”.  The streets fill up and stop traffic with processions in worship of a young girl dressed as the Virgin Guadalupe.  She is placed on a float decorated to the hilt followed by Mayan dancers and many local citizens singing worship songs to her as they make their way to the Centro of Vallarta.
In the US and Canada commercialism takes the center stage of the Christmas season and down here Mary does… The heart of our God must be so saddened.   Tomorrow everyone will go back to the everyday lives not necessarily changed or a better person due to their devotion.  This is what happens when we worship that which wasn’t made to take center stage.  Unlike those who fall down and worship the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, recognizing humbly that there is no one that is good, solely our Jesus.  Only He deserves adoration and worship and praise.  Only He makes that change and transformation in our lives which makes us better people and gives us true peace with His father.
Why do people get so stuck believing the lies of the enemy who has deceived them into believing that false worship will bring them true peace?   Materialism only brings debt and emptiness.  Idol worship only opens doors to more confusion and separation.  We live in dangerous times as we watch so many slip into eternity without the True Savior.
Our prayer during this Holiday season and the New Year which is quickly approaching is that Jesus will bring sight to the blind, help the spiritually lame walk, and use us to point the way to true fulfillment in His Son Jesus Christ.
God Bless you!
The Martin Family and the Body at
Calvary Chapel Puerto Vallarta

Won't you join us in Prayer:

Prayer Requests:
  • For those new lives that were surrendered to Jesus at the Outreach...that the Lord will guard the seed planted in their hearts by baptizing them in the Holy Spirit..

  • For the Body at Calvary Chapel Puerto Vallarta....that they will not grow weary in doing good but will continue to be self-less and more "others centered".  That their daily  financial needs will be met so they can live peaceable lives and keep their focus on the Lord.
  • For Pastor Bill and family....protection, good health, provision and perseverance in the work of the ministry.
  • For the poor economy in Mexico and the United States.  We are seeing it affect our community which depends on tourism.  Our Lord is the owner of the cattle of a thousand hills and is able to provide to all His children according to His abundant riches in the heavenly places.

Praise Reports:

  • We thank the Lord for sending His faithful church to come alongside us in the work of the ministry; those that have been called to serve on a more full-time basis that travel down to here from the US and Canada because they see the harvest is so white!  Thank you Lord for their lives....
  • For our Body at Calvary who continue to grow in love with the Lord and have more independent quiet times in His Word!
  • For the Ladies out at CCMS in Laguna who are acquiring more of a hunger for things of the Lord as they see Jesus transforming the lives of their children!
  • For the spiritual growth of the children and youth....what can we say but that God has put such a love in our hearts for the young who will be the next generation of missionaries in our community when He calls us home!

June/July Update

Your unfailing love, O LORD, is as vast as the heavens; your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds.
Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the ocean depths.
You care for people and animals alike, O LORD. How precious is your unfailing love, O God!
All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings.
You feed them from the abundance of your own house, letting them drink from your river of delights.

"For you are the fountain of life, The light by which we see.  Pour out your unfailing love on those who love you; give justice to those with honest hearts."  Psalm 36:5-12

Don’t you love how the Lord knows your needs even before you ask? How we can rest in Him knowing that He is watching your comings and goings and never sleeps. We have felt His loving care as we try to be faithful to feeding His flock. He loves His people more than we do and has made a way during these difficult times for the work to continue at Calvary Chapel Puerto Vallarta.

Many of you did not receive our last newsletter due to a circulation problem we had last month so I am praying that this one gets into your hands. I know you have been faithfully praying for this ministry and would like to share in the praises of our Lord in what He continues to do through the body at CCPV. Thank you for your love, prayers and support you have shared with us. God is truly faithful!

These last two months we have seen the fruit of the discipleship classes our Men, Women, and Youth have been receiving at the church as they are spending more time in the Word. In May we had a Women’s Conference based on the book “The Lies Women believe and the Truth that sets them free!” What a beautiful time it was!  Jim and Linda Mather were there behind the scenes helping Estie, Haniel, and Sarai getting all the prep-work done for the conference. Estie and Linda did a beautiful job decorating the church. Haniel and Sarai did a beautiful job preparing a book for each person…80 in all! Haniel is a graphic designer and did a great job designing the cover and formatting the book for printing.

Sarai translated the book so each woman could walk away with the key “Truth” verses to battle the lies! Four of us in leadership gave conferences touching on each chapter of the book. Our closing message was on “Lies we believe about our emotions and circumstances” and a challenge was given for the body to let go of those obstacles that were holding them back from walking in freedom. An altar call was made for those that wanted healing from emotional and physical problems. Can you believe everybody came forward! It was probably the most awesome worship service we have had this year. It was very special and we saw the body grow from God’s touch on their lives! The youth did an awesome job serving these ladies during the whole weekend. This was the fruit of them being touched at their Youth retreat the previous month! It is so beautiful to see the body ministering one to another. We are really, really being blessed!

We just concluded a couples dinner at the church with a message on Ephesians 5:21-33. We challenged the couples to take the “Love Dare” after watching the movie “Fireproof”. We had wonderful teaching, a wonderful meal, and a great movie!

The Lord really touched each couple. Please pray that the couples in the church will continue to be strengthened and that those that are not living rightfully before the Lord, simply because they do not know how, will continue to grow in their marriages.

Then going into summer we will be finishing up our school year at CCMS. We will have graduation where we will recognize the children for their “faithfulness” to stick out the entire year by awarding them a school supply voucher for next school year and a diploma. We will invite the parents so we can have the opportunity to share with them all that God has done in their children’s lives in hope that they will receive Christ as well. They will also be rewarded a food staple packet. It is sad to me that there are people out there that believe that it is not necessary to evangelize the world because

God already knows who will come into His kingdom, so why bother. The whole world needs to know that the Lord loves them and we love having this opportunity to reach parents through their children. Pray that they will be touched and that they will step into a relationship with the Lord and will desire to be discipled as well. The battle rages for souls and we want to cast the net in every opportunity we have. The kids love Jesus and we love them! We have had a wonderful year with them and are also planning on taking them on an end of the year field trip. We don’t know where exactly but we hope it will be the Water Park. If God makes a way for us to fund it we will go there or to the Vallarta Zoo. God again has been so faithful to provide this year for the children’s monthly food packets, materials to run the school and the all the needs of the Church. We believe He will keep providing!

Prayer Requests:
Pray for a new Calvary Church Plant in La Cruz de Loreto 2 hrs south of Vallarta. For Pastor Roberto and his wife Paloma and their 4 beautiful children. For their physical needs and for Roberto’s discipleship class with  Pastor Bill. Pray for another possible church plant in Las Palmas, community Northeast of Vallarta that is praying about coming under Bill’s discipleship,

Pray for Calvary Chapel Mission School…our roof leaks! The last concrete pour left much to be desired and we want to get it sealed before the rainy season starts. We want to assure that our interior is protected from humidity.

Pray for finances of the Church and for the Body. We are in the low-season and we don’t want the people of our congregation be stuck without food and shelter. Life is pricey down here but they have nowhere else to go. Pray that the Lord would bless their faithfulness in their walks with Him.

Pray for our summer outreaches that they will be a blessing to many and that God will strengthen us to do our best.

Pray for our leaders Jose Luis and Mari Molina and family. They are diligent in coming alongside us in the ministry but are truly a tent-making ministry! They have a business that needs their attention but in all their free time they serve in the church. Pray the Lord would make a way for them to take Mondays off.

Pray for all the discipleship classes that they would grow in numbers as the body becomes hungrier for the Word of God.

Pray for our youth. Pray that our youth would be faithful in reading the Bible every day.

Pray for our children as they mature into young ladies and a young man. That the Lord would keep them pure and walking uprightly before the Lord.
Praise Reports:
Thank you Lord for your constant faithfulness to your children! We are so amazed to see how you work, provide and surprise us every day!

We praise God for all the new believers. Pray they will exhibit fruits of repentance as they lay their sin down at the cross. That they would put off all the old man and take on all the wonderful things God has for them as they walk with Jesus.

We praise you Lord for a finished school year at CCMS and at home. Keep our kids walking with you as they learn more and put you in the center of their studies!

We praise the Lord for a body that has learned how to worship Him! Makes church really fun to hear them singing their hearts out!

Hola and thanks for checking in to our Blog. Renee and I have been staying busy with the ministry and I haven't had the opportunity to stay in touch lately to let everyone know what we are up to. In the last month or so we have done an outreach in a small town called Cruz de Loredo about an hour and an half from Vallarta and a Woman's conference here in our Church building. Both events went extremely well.

We took our youth team down to Cruz to do evangelism to help our new sister Church there which is the first none Catholic Church in the Town. We had clowns and Puppets and Drama and Singing. Through the whole event God's love was proclaimed and demonstrated. Our youth did and great job and even lead people in the sinners prayer.

The Woman's conference which we held about two weeks later was well attended by ladies form three or four different Churches plus a few that had no Church home. Renee, Mari Molina, Linda, Linda Mather, Maura Cathy all spoke and shared on the lies woman believe. The event started on Friday late afternoon and went through to Saturday night where we ended with communion and prayer. The Holy Spirit really touched many Woman's bodies and life's and no one wanted the worship time to end. The food and the decorations were very well done and I enjoyed being off stage doing sound or leading the worship times.

We are now praying that the momentum started at the conference will continue in the lives of these ladies and we will see them sharing their faith and what they learned with their friends.

August/Sept. 2009

Hello Everyone!

Well August is coming to a close and school year is beginning…summer coming to an end and another season is beginning. We are excited to wait and see what the Lord will do. We came back to Puerto Vallarta and hit the ground running after a wonderful time with family and friends in Texas, New Mexico, and Renee’ in Colorado. We were able to attend our home churches and share what the Lord is doing in Calvary Puerto Vallarta. Our kids were ministered to by the youth ministry at Calvary Albuquerque and we were able to minister to Renee’s family. We returned rested and blessed.
Since we have been home we have marveled at how the Lord was able to use the people of the body in such a marvelous way to keep up the work of the ministry while we were gone! What an answer to prayer! God sent some wonderful pastors to teach in my place and He was able to use Luis Molina my only elder to minister and oversee the sheep while I was gone. Mari his wife oversaw the women’s ministry and children’s ministry and did an excellent job. Lety our only employee at the church took care of CC Mission School and all the church business while we were gone. Thanks to all you visiting volunteers that made Lety’s job so much more pleasant! She did a great job! Don’t you love the Lord’s faithfulness?
We are blessed to see that none of us are indispensable…but that God is able to do his work with those who make themselves available to His molding hand if they are willing…Sometimes it’s painful but what comes out of it is amazing. It was a stretching time for the body but one in which we saw a lot of growth in their trust in the Lord. We can be book learned, know the Bible from beginning to end but if our service is not presented with humility, love, and a submissive spirit God can’t work…The body molded and bent and were shaped through this experience and God answered our prayers! The church was just as full when we came as when we left! He added new people as well! Glory to our faithful King!
July was a time of preparation for the harvest in August. We began working on Vacation Bible School…Thanks go out to all of our supporters who made it possible for these little children to go on an adventure to Avalanche Ranch! The youth really pulled together and worked hard in the preparation of all the decorations and the materials that were needed for the 80 who would arrive.
This year due to the swine flu scare we were not able to receive the team that normally comes to help with this outreach. God’s ways are definitely higher than ours and his thoughts greater than ours! We saw the youth put into action all they have been learning throughout the year in their bible study in their service to the kids. We made the observation that this year went better than all the years before. The leaders and the youth along with the children were able to capture the lessons more cohesively than in the past. There was a special anointing of the Holy Spirit and a unity which resulted in all the children leaving with Jesus as their Lord and knowing that God is awesome! We brought a close to the event with a special service where we invited the parents so they could be ministered to by their kids through song and scripture memory. 8 parents received Christ that morning! The message Pastor Bill gave was a recap of the 5 bible stories the children studied during the week. It was an incredible message and time of worship and we were all touched! We ended the day feeding everyone Ranch beans and fellowshipping watching Chadder’s Great Ranch Adventure. We thank the Lord for letting us be a part of His work in the lives of many!
This weekend the youth organized a Mexican Quinciñiera for a young 15 year old named Sharito. Bill and I met Philomena her mother when Sharito was about 5 years old. We saw Philo get saved and eventually they ended up in our church along with her husband Ventura and her son David. Sharito went on a mission trip with our youth two years ago. All this to say what a joy it is to see young people growing in Christ and abiding in the vine! The message was evangelistic and Philo’s mother and sister accepted Christ along with several others! The Lord is moving in our midst! Thank you Lord for your faithfulness to your servants!
The children at Calvary Chapel Mission School continue to grow in Christ and are remaining faithful to the Lord. We will be starting school three times a week again after the children adjust to their routine of their regular school hours. We continue to go out on Fridays to have Bible and we are seeing the mother’s become more interested as they are attending the women’s study we are offering! What an answer to prayer as we are seeing these moms get saved.
We will be able to provide School supplies for all the kids at the school again thanks to your generous support and your prayers for this ministry during these tough economic times. We are so grateful that our God is the owner of the cattle on a thousand hills and not limited by the world’s economy! Thank you all you who blessed the mission school with a needed appliances and food while we were gone! God bless you for your faithfulness and please keep up the prayer support! We pray for a great harvest in this part of the world and for other places where God sends His servants to cast out their nets!
Praise Reports:
We thank the Lord for all the new believers and for his answered prayer in the maturing of the older believers.
We thank the Lord that He is planting His word deeply in the hearts of his children and that they desire to study the Bible more and evangelize!
We thank the Lord for His faithfulness in providing for all the church expenses and the needs of CC Mission School!
Prayer request:
May the Lord the plans of the enemy as he attempts to attack our youth.
That the Lord would grow richly the Word that is being planted in the hearts of His children in all the discipleship groups.
For the Worship team to grow in maturity and understanding of what true worship is.
That God would use the youth to reach to many for Christ through their contagious joy!
For our family’s health…especially Renee’s. For Bill’s study time…

For the brother’s suffering from alcohol addiction…many fall back into it here.
